Terms of use for Lock – Private Photo Vault
Welcome to Lock ("CYL" or "the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by this User Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Please read these terms carefully.
By using any part of the App, you accept this Agreement in full. We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you in the App (e.g. pop-up or release notes). Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree to any change, you must stop using the App.
Lock is a private photo and video vault. Key features include:
Unless we state otherwise, all features use local storage and device-side encryption. We do not review, edit, or access the content you store. Where required by law or lawful authority, we may provide assistance in accordance with legal process.
You must use the App in compliance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction. We design our practices to align with privacy and data protection laws in regions such as:
We do not voluntarily transmit your stored content to regulators except as required by law or with your consent. If any part of this Agreement conflicts with mandatory law where you live, that law prevails for that part only.
Album access is controlled by your album lock PIN and, if enabled, device biometrics. The App does not store or sync your PIN over the network. If you forget your PIN or lose access to device biometrics, we cannot recover your locked album content. You are responsible for keeping your device and credentials secure. Any use of the App through your device and credentials is deemed your responsibility.
If your device is lost or stolen or credentials may be compromised, you should use system tools (e.g. Find My, remote wipe), change your device passcode, and consider deleting the App and its data if appropriate.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect information. Media you store in the App remains on your device by design. We may collect limited, anonymous or de-identified data for operation and improvement. You may have rights under local law (e.g. access, correction, deletion, portability). You agree not to use the App to:
Violation may result in restriction or termination of your access and, where applicable, cooperation with authorities or pursuit of remedies.
Premium features may require virtual currency ("coins") or direct purchases. You may buy coins through legitimate in-app purchase (IAP) only. Coins have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred outside the App. Except where required by law, purchases are generally non-refundable. For duplicate charges or technical issues, contact lockcyl@163.com. You must use lawful payment methods and comply with the app store’s terms (e.g. Apple App Store).
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, use the App only with parental consent and supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for minors’ use. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has used the App or made purchases without your consent, contact us at lockcyl@163.com and we will assist where reasonably possible.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law (including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose). You use the App at your own risk. Content may be lost due to device failure, loss, or damage; you should back up important data as needed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: (a) loss or damage from your failure to safeguard credentials or device; (b) your breach of this Agreement or law; (c) third-party services (OS, app store, payment) or force majeure; or (d) indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for the App or related services in the twelve months before the claim.
We may suspend or discontinue the App or your access where permitted by law (e.g. breach of terms, legal requirement, or security need). We may also change or discontinue features with reasonable notice in the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Data on your device will be handled according to the operating system; we may not be able to recover content from uninstalled or damaged devices.

We will respond within a reasonable time. Where permitted, we prefer to resolve disputes by good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it may be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction; the law of your residence or where the service is provided may apply, to the extent not inconsistent with mandatory law.
